About Us
Eat Local. Travel Global.
At The Bay’s Global Grub Club, we believe food is more than just something to eat - it’s a story, a tradition, and a bridge between cultures. Our mission is simple: to bring the world to your table right here in the Bay
We explore local restaurants that serve authentic dishes from around the globe, sharing honest reviews and real experiences. From family-owned gems tucked away in neighborhoods to street food that tells a story of heritage, we’re here to celebrate the flavors that make our community so rich and diverse.
This isn’t about hype or chasing trends — it’s about connection. Every dish has a history, every flavor carries a memory, and every restaurant has a story worth sharing. We want to give you more than just “where to eat” — we want to inspire you to taste the world, support local businesses, and discover the culture and love behind every plate.
Join us as we eat our way around the world, one bite at a time.

Our Story
Our story starts on the wrestling mats at Menlo College. That’s where we met — teammates from different parts of the world, with different upbringings and cultures, all finding common ground through friendship, hard work, and a love for food. Food has always been our way of connecting. For some of us, it’s the flavors that remind us of home. For others, it’s the excitement of trying something new for the first time. Here in the Bay Area, we’ve discovered that we don’t have to travel far to taste the world — it’s right in our backyard, cooked with passion by families and communities who carry their cultures with pride.
That’s what inspired The Bay's Global Grub Hub. We’re not chefs or critics — we’re students, athletes, and friends who want to share the joy of exploring global flavors in the Bay Area. This project is a reflection of who we are: diverse, curious, and always hungry for good food and meaningful connections.
Meet The Team

Juan Carlos Escutia
Salinas, CA
Born and raised in Salinas, CA, I’m proud of my Hispanic roots and all the traditions that come with them. Family gatherings during the holidays are my favorite — everyone cooking, laughing, and coming together over dishes like pozole, pan dulce, and mole. Living in Northern California makes it even better, with its diversity and endless food options that let me experience so many cultures through flavor.

Noah Elliot
Los Angeles, CA
I’m from Los Angeles and proud of my Italian, Caucasian, and Irish roots. My favorite thing about my culture is how family-oriented it is — we value time together, good food, and keeping life honest and real. What I love most about living in the Bay Area is the incredible diversity. Every day feels like a chance to meet new people, experience different cultures, and keep growing through the stories and traditions others share.

Cole Steketee
Salem, OR
I’m originally from Oregon — my dad’s from there too, and my mom’s from Arizona — but the Bay Area feels like home now. What I love most about the Bay is how beautifully diverse it is. There’s always something new to explore, and the mix of cultures makes it feel so alive. I have a soft spot for trying new authentic restaurants — not just for the amazing flavors, but for the stories behind them. I love learning about the people who pour their heart into their food and the paths that brought them here.

Micaela Correa
Santa Maria, CA
I’m from California’s beautiful Central Coast, born and raised in Santa Maria. My parents are from Los Angeles and Santa Maria, and I’m proud to be Mexican American and Puerto Rican. My favorite thing about my culture is how family-centered and full of flavor it is — we put love into everything, especially the food! What I love most about the Bay Area is its diversity and the endless opportunities it offers to grow, connect, and experience new things.

Stephanie Chavez
Downey, CA
Born and raised in Downey, I’ve called SoCal home my entire life. My roots run deep in Mexico — my dad came from Michoacán at the age of 7, and my mom’s side has their own beautiful story of coming to the U.S. generations ago. Being Hispanic is something I’m incredibly proud of. I love our traditions, our food, and the way family is at the heart of everything we do. The holidays are my favorite time of year — from preparing tamales or enchiladas to celebrating Christmas, Thanksgiving, and Día de los Muertos surrounded by family, laughter, and love.

Sara Vela
San Jose, CA
Hey there! I was born and raised in San Jose and proudly come from a mix of Filipino and Hispanic roots. My mom came to the U.S. from the Philippines when she was 18 years old, and her story inspires me every day. NorCal will forever be home — there’s just something special about the people, the food, and all the hidden gems waiting to be explored. I’m so excited to share my favorite local finds with you!
